Architect Pierre Thibault, speaking from huge and varied experience, will address timber’s current and future potential in the construction and related sectors.

Atelier Thibault, his Quebec-based practice, is a renowned exponent of modern timber building and interiors.

He started the firm in 1988, and its first major project, Musée d’art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul (1992), received an Award of Excellence from the Ordre des Architectes du Québec. His work since, ranging from major cultural construction projects, to commercial building and private residences, has received many other accolades.

Speaking at the Carrefour du Bois International in France last year, he described timber as a starting point for his work and he has written several books on wood construction.

The leading architectural, design and construction press worldwide cover his work and he has given lectures in Paris, Taiwan, Stockholm, New York and London.

Underlining his desire to push the technical boundaries, he has recently designed a hydroelectric plant and worked on the multiple dwelling Cohabitat project in Quebec City.
